AKP-International Council Concluded a Successful Nationwide Feeding Program

In our continued zeal for humanitarian service, The Alpha Kappa Rho – International Council has successfully concluded a nationwide feeding program in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This has been the first major humanitarian undertaking of the AKP-International Council since its inception early this year, whose main reason for existence is to propagate Alpha Kappa Rho’s undying passion for humanitarian service.

In Luzon, the Feeding program was hosted by the AKRHO Veterans and the National Association of Skeptron Alumni and Professionals (NASAP) last March 27, 2010 at Lardizabal Street, Barangay 413, Zone 42, U-Belt Area, Sampaloc District, City of Manila

In the Visayas, it was a joint Feeding Program and Relief Operation for the victims of fire in Mandaue City. The humanitarian project was a success; thanks to the undying efforts of the Mandaue Supreme Council and NASAP. Over 500 children and displaced residents benefited from the project.

In Mindanao, the project was hosted by four chapters namely: Rho Sigma Chapter of Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Alpha Upsilon of Davao, Naawan Initao, Misamis Oriental.

The nationwide feeding project was made successful with the support of the chartered Skeptron Alumni Association Councils namely: SAA- USA East and West Coast, SAA-Qatar, SAA-Kuwait, SAA-Italy, SAA-United Kingdom, SAA-Canada East Coast, SAA-Singapore, SAA-Japan, SAA-South Korea, SAA-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Singapore Skeptrons  Celebrated Christmas with our Distressed Filipino Workers in Singapore

We heard stories of inhumanity, nightmare of physical and mental abuse of our supposed “bagong bayani” of our country. On this Christmas celebration, we put back the smile and joy to their faces by celebrating Christmas with them.

Skeptron Alumni Association of Singapore once again, fulfills it’s promise of humanitarian service, and celebrated the true meaning of Christmas right at the very heart of Philippines economic lifeline; the physically and mentally abused OFW’s at their shelter house in Holland Drive. It was an afternoon of fun and party, as we hosted parlor games, sponsored prizes and surprises, gift-giving and a set of afternoon snacks to over fourty-eight kababayans at the Filipino Workers Resource Center.

It was indeed a very fulfilling Christmas event for all Singapore Skeptrons, as we shared this joyous occasion with the unsung heroes of our nation.

Below are some photos of the outreach service:

Philippine Independence Day Celebrations, 2008

12th to 15th of June 2008, a date to remember for all Singapore Skeptrons. Philippine Independence Day Celebrations ‘O8 (PIDC ‘ O8) was the first major civic activity that we have participated. Through the efforts of then Grand Skeptron Kenneth Dolfeliz of PATTS Chapter Manila and Vice Grand Skeptron Cyrus Rolloque, we served as VIP security and Stage marshalls at Suntec City, to where the celbrations was held. While the Filipino Community with an estimated crowd of 200,000 that filled Suntec City to the brim enjoyed the entertainment provided by the celebreties from Manila, the Singapore Skeptrons was busy manning the perimeter of the staging area.

A group of Skeptrons led by Bro. Chadix of USC-Alpha Cebu, were assigned as VIP escort. Their main task was to fetched the celebrities from Conrad hotel and bring them to Suntec City, the celebration venue. Bro. Chadix and the crew was lucky enough to escort one of our celebrity brother, Bro. Cesar Montano. Bro. Cesar introduced himself as a Skeptron from Letran Chapter and survived in the 80′s. Singapore Skeptron in return gave Bro. Cesar a commemorative Singapore Skeptron t-shirt which he gladly receveived. Below is a video of that encounter:

Other celebrities includes, Pops Fernandes, MYMP band, Noy Vollante, Vice Ganda and many other celbrities both from GMA-7 and ABS-CBN.
